Troubleshooting Tips
⚠️ "Mismatched AirPods" Message (Important - Read First!)
If you see a message saying your AirPods are different generations and don't work together, don't worry - you've received the correct product!
This message appears when you place a replacement AirPod directly into the case without following the pairing instructions first. The system incorrectly identifies the replacement as a different generation or displays 'not yours'.
To fix this:
- Follow the step-by-step instructions in our setup video
- After this, the replacement will be correctly recognised and work perfectly with your existing AirPod
This is NOT a wrong or faulty product - it's simply iOS's way of telling you the pairing process needs to be completed first.
Orange Flashing Light (Not applicable for 4th Gen AirPods)
If your AirPods still don't connect and your case continues to flash orange, try a full reset:
- With the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the case for 15 seconds until the light flashes orange.
- KEEP HOLDING the setup button for a further 15 seconds until the light flashes orange again.
- Follow the instructions as per the video.
4th Gen AirPods
If you're struggling to reset your AirPods by double tapping the front of the charging case, try closing the lid for 30 seconds, then retrying the double tap. It may take a few attempts before the orange light flashes, indicating a successful reset.
iCloud Account Removal
If your AirPods are connected to an existing iCloud account, try the following:
- With the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the case for 15 seconds until the light flashes orange.
- KEEP HOLDING the setup button for a further 15 seconds until the light flashes orange again.
- If successful, the iCloud account will be removed.
